My address book is filling up with lots of e-mail addresses that I really don't want in there. How can I prevent these e-mail addresses from automatically being added? My e-mail program is Outlook Express 6 and I'm using Windows XP Home Edition for my computer operating system. 1. Open Outlook Express 6 or Windows Mail. 2. Click your cursor arrow on the "Tools" menu and select "Options" from the resulting drop-down menu. The Options window will open. 3. Click on the "Send" tab. Uncheck the box next to "Automatically put people I reply to in my Address Book" for Outlook Express 6 or the box next to "Automatically put people I reply to in my Contacts list" for Windows Mail. 4. Click on "Apply" and then "OK" to save the setting and close the Options window.
